New garden furniture at White Cross Court

We are delighted to announce the arrival of brand new garden furniture at White Cross Court, funded by the incredible fundraising efforts of staff.
This much-needed addition includes a table, comfortable chairs, and two protective parasols, ensuring patients can enjoy the garden in comfort and safety.
The new garden furniture provides shade for patients, enabling them to benefit from outdoor spaces without overheating. Access to open spaces and fresh air has been associated with improved mood, especially for stroke recovery patients, creating a peaceful environment for relaxation and healing. Patients can now enjoy quality time with loved ones in a comfortable outdoor setting, enhancing their experience of the beautiful summer months.
The outdoor environment offers a change of scenery and a sensory-rich experience, which is beneficial for cognitive stimulation and overall mental health.
This wonderful addition would not have been possible without the dedication of staff at White Cross Court. A special mention goes to Vicky Hey, who organised a fantastic Autumn Fair in October, raising the funds needed for the furniture.
Jody Wheatley, Ward Sister, expressed her gratitude: “It’s a breath of fresh air working with such a caring and patient-dedicated team. Vicky, one of our band 2 staff members, went above and beyond her role expectations in the planning of the fair and ensuring it all ran smoothly on the day. The whole team pulled together in raising the money for the much-needed garden furniture. I am humbled by their efforts and results.”
The new furniture has made a tangible difference in the lives of patients, providing them with a beautiful and functional space to enjoy the outdoors.
