York Paediatric Emergency Department transformation

Fundraiser Sara Burnham held a ‘knockout’ charity white collar boxing event, raising an incredible £1,100 to support York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity. Sara, who works as a Bank Nurse for York Paediatric Emergency Department, reached out to Elly Ross to be able to work together creating a transformative space in the Paediatric Emergency Department, bringing light and beauty onto the walls.
Two spaces in the Paediatrics Emergency Department have been able to be transformed by artist Emma Garness, with beautiful wall murals with the artist bringing nature and serenity to the ward, that otherwise can be an emotionally overwhelming space.
Hannah Montgomery, Paediatric Emergency Department Manager (pictured) said: "The murals have transformed the space, creating a bright an engaging space in an area that can be difficult for parents and children. We are very thankful to have the murals, it's wonderful walking past them everyday."
