Tattoo clinic for breast cancer patients
5 FEBRUARY 2026
York & Scarborough Hospital Charity is delighted to have funded attendance at the 3D nipple and areola tattoo training for Breast Associate Practitioner and Coordinator, Amy Ellerby. Amy had been shadowing Tina Grant, Breast Care Specialist Support Nurse, for a year and was very keen to be able to start tattooing herself.
Held in Manchester, the two-day course involved live skills training in the study of tattooing of realistic nipple and areolas. Amy said: “I attended the course and there were volunteers to practise on.”
Following completion of the course, Amy is now hosting clinics for those who have had reconstructive surgery following breast cancer treatment. The clinic is held once a month and she and Tina see four patients a day. Amy is very grateful to York & Scarborough Hospital Charity for funding the course that has such a positive effect of both the women and men, following their breast cancer journey.
Amy and Tina host the monthly clinics at the Magnolia Centre, York Hospital. Tina said: “Being able to offer this service brings a smile to so many women. This is the finishing touch to the end of their journey”.
