Education Bursary – Access to Higher Education Diploma (Radiography)
26 JANUARY 2026
York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity funds an annual Education Bursary for staff members. Applicants are awarded funding to develop skill, techniques and further knowledge in the team member’s field. The Trust requests that the applicant provides information of how this will impact on their role and how patients and families will benefit.
Monika Krupczak, Clinical Imaging Support Worker has completed the Access to Higher Education Diploma after making a successful application to the Education Bursary.
Mokinka explained: “Three years ago, after finishing a Master’s degree in Economics in Poland, I made a big change and joined the NHS. Becoming part of the Radiology team has been one of the best and most meaningful decisions in my life. I have found real purpose in this work, and I want to continue growing in this field.
“This diploma is very important to me. It will give me the basic knowledge in anatomy, biology, physics, and radiology that I did not study before, and I now need clinical knowledge to move forward.”
Monika continued: “This course will prepare me for future radiography studies, help me feel more confident, and allow me to contribute more to the team. Patients will benefit as I will be able to explain procedures more clearly, help position them safely and comfortably and respond better to their questions and concerns.
“It also means I am moving toward a long-term career in clinical care which matches my values. My aim is to become an Associate Practitioner Radiographer.
“I would like to thank York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity for funding my course. I’m so grateful for this opportunity and I really appreciate the support.”
