Wheelchair for Mulberry Ward

Donations to York & Scarborough Hospital Charity have made a significant impact on the patients cared for on Mulberry Ward, who often face limited mobility.
For many, this can result in them being unable to participate in daily activities, visiting the canteen, or enjoying outdoor spaces.
Housekeeper Jo Northage said “The wheelchair allows families or friends of patients to take them outside for some fresh air, or to Pat’s Place for something to eat. Also, the physiotherapists run exercise classes during the week, and we can take patients to those sessions. Family members have also been informed about the availability of the wheelchair and have even used it to take a patient to a funeral as it was versatile and easy to use”.
We are incredibly grateful for the support that has made funding the wheelchair possible which has enhanced patient care on Mulberry Ward.
