Any staff member from York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust can enter.

NHS Big Tea Bake Off Competition Rules

Eligibility:

• The competition is open to all staff members of York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

How to enter: 

• Register for the NHS Big Tea then complete the online entry form which will be sent out to you soon! 
• Bake your cake and take two clear photos:
  
  - One photo of your cake on its own.
  - One photo of the cake with you, or with your official name tag clearly visible.
• Submit both photos through the entry form.

Entry rules:

• Only one cake per entry.
• The cake can be of any type (sponge, cupcakes, traybake, etc.)
• Cakes can be homemade or store-bought, but they must be decorated by you.
• The submitted photos must clearly show the cake and the participant (or their name tag).
• Multiple entries are not allowed. Each participant can only submit one cake.

Judging:

• Entries will be judged solely based on the submitted photos.
• Judging criteria include:
  
  - Creativity and originality of design
  - Presentation and neatness
  - Visual appeal
• The judges’ decision is final.

Raffle:

• All entrants will automatically be entered into a raffle to win a hamper, even if they do not win Best Bake.

Donation and cake usage:

• After taking the photos, participants are encouraged to sell their cake as part of their NHS Big Tea party in their ward or department to raise funds for York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity.

Winner announcement:

• Winners will be announced on Monday 13 July.
• The winning cakes and bakers will be featured on York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity’s social media channels.

Terms and conditions:

• By entering the competition, participants agree to have their photos shared on York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity’s social media channels.
• Any cakes containing allergens must be clearly labelled when sold.
• York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity is not responsible for any allergic reactions caused by the cakes.

Once you’ve registered for the NHS Big Tea, we’ll send you a link to enter the Bake Off competition by email. This will be shared with you closer to Big Tea week in July, so keep an eye on your inbox!

Winners will be announced on Monday 13 July, and they will be featured on York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity social media channels. We will contact you via email or telephone if you win.
