What's involved?
Sign up as a Chief Elf and we’ll send you a festive fundraising pack with a donation tin, posters, quizzes and simple ideas to help your team get involved.
You can keep it as simple as wearing something festive and donating £2, or use the ideas in your pack to do some extra fundraising.
With lots of ideas in the fundraising pack, be as creative as you like or you can even plan your own fundraising event!

As a Chief Elf, you'll be able to take the reins of bringing some festive fun to your ward or department.
Here’s what being a Chief Elf involves:
- Register your ward or department to take part.
- Spread the word – put up posters and share your fundraising plans.
- Encourage your colleagues to don their most festive gear on your chosen day during National Elf Service week.
- Collect £2 donations from everyone joining in the fun
- Celebrate your efforts knowing you’ve made a real difference while having some festive fun!
The Charity Team will be here to help you promote your activities and make your National Elf Service Day one to remember.
The search for our National Elf Champions is back! It’s a fun way to celebrate your team’s festive spirit and fantastic fundraising, with the chance to win along the way.
This year, we’re looking for our Best Festive Team Photo! Get your team together, embrace the festive spirit and take a photo showing us your best Christmas cheer.
Send your photo by email to hello@yshospitalscharity.org, making sure to include your ward or department name with your entry.
Entries will close Monday 14 December at 9am. The winner will be notified via email.
You can collect cash donations using the charity collection tin provided in your fundraising pack when you register. You can also collect online donations via a QR code poster, which will be sent to you by the Charity Team.
Once your event is finished, you will be contacted by the Charity to arrange collection of any cash and confirming your total raised.
