Fundraising team
Rachel Brook
Head of Charity
Rachel has been part of York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity since May 2019. Rachel has day to day responsibility for the running of the charity overseeing fundraising and expenditure. She loves the variety of the role and seeing the tangible difference our fabulous donors and fundraisers make to the patients’ experience and to staff wellbeing. Rachel came to the charity with a commercial background in film and TV.
Joe Fenton
Community Fundraiser
Joe joined the charity team in November 2019 as a Community Fundraiser. He looks after our challenge events, supporting participants taking part in a range of events from the Great North Run to the Yorkshire Coast 10k. Joe also assists hospital staff who wish to spend charity funds on a range of fantastic projects, which are funded by donations and sponsorship.
Emma Sargent
Community Fundraiser
Emma joined the team in January 2022 and is a Community Fundraiser for the charity. She works across our sites and supports our incredible fundraisers with their events. Emma also manages fundraising campaigns including our online charity auction and Christmas magic appeal. Emma comes from a background as a Charity Events Manager and has a passion for all things events.
Becky White
Community Fundraiser
Becky joined the team in June 2022 and is currently a Community Fundraiser for the charity. She works across our sites and supports our fantastic fundraisers with their events and fundraising ideas. Becky also manages fundraising campaigns including the NHS Big Tea. Becky enjoys being creative and the variety that being a Community Fundraiser brings.
Finance and operations team
Robert Taylor
Deputy Head of Corporate Finance
Robert is a CIMA qualified Accountant and has worked at the Trust since 2012. Robert’s role is quite varied and includes responsibility for the charity finance team. As well as day to day charity financial management and processing of expenditure requests, the charity finance team are responsible for collating the annual accounts and ensuring they are submitted to the Charity Commission on time.

Sarah Kew
Capital Planning Project Manager
Sarah joined the NHS in 2010. Over time Sarah has trained to become a Project Manager in the capital planning team, with her current role supporting the charity in delivering charitable funded projects. Some of Sarah’s highlights include the refurbishment of the York Junior Dr’s Mess, the installation of the ChargeBox stations and commencing the scoping of the breast unit waiting area refurbishment at York Hospital.
