NHS staff take on Total Warrior challenge and raise over £2,000 for York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity
13 JULY 2026

Six dedicated NHS staff members recently took on the Total Warrior Great Northern Mud Run, raising more than £2,000 for York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity.
Taking on the gruelling obstacle course, the team embraced the challenge to support areas close to their hearts within York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Five of the participants formed Team Haematology, raising funds specifically for the Haematology Department to help purchase new equipment that will enhance one of the patient rooms and improve the experience of patients receiving care.
Natalie Marriott, Events Fundraiser for York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity, said: "We're incredibly proud of all six participants for taking on the Total Warrior Great Northern Mud Run this year. Completing such a physically demanding challenge is a fantastic achievement, and to raise more than £2,000 alongside it is incredible.”
The Total Warrior Great Northern Mud Run provides a unique opportunity for participants to push themselves to the limit, tackling mud, water and challenging obstacles while raising money for causes close to their hearts.
The money raised will help fund improvements to patient care and hospital environments beyond what NHS funding alone can provide.
