Lace Up for a Cause: Support Local Hospitals in the 2026 Great North Run
21 MAY 2026

York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity is calling on local runners to lace up and make a difference, with places now available for the 2026 Great North Run in support their local hospitals.
Taking place on Sunday 13 September, the world‑famous half marathon offers an unforgettable atmosphere and the chance to raise vital funds for the charity’s work across departments, wards and specialist services. Every runner who signs up will help improve care and experiences for patients and families in their local hospitals.
Runners will receive a charity running vest, fundraising support, and a warm welcome from the charity team on the day. Whether you're a seasoned runner or taking on your first half marathon, this is an amazing way to give back to the hospitals that care for our community.
Natalie Marriott, Events Fundraiser at York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity, said: “Taking on the Great North Run is an incredible achievement, and by running for your local hospitals you’ll be making a real impact for patients and staff across our region.”
