Scooter Club Raises Over £1,200 for York Hospital's Magnolia Centre
1 MAY 2025
York Inset Scooter Club’s annual Mods and Rockers charity ride has raised over £1,200 for the Magnolia Centre at York Hospital.
The popular event, held last month, saw hundreds of scooters and motorbikes parade from the Eye of York to the Mended Drum in Huby.
Now in its fourth year supporting the Magnolia Centre, the event has raised over £3,000 to date. This year’s ride was particularly special, celebrating the upcoming 100th birthday of club president and Normandy veteran Ken Cook. His presence was warmly welcomed and served as an inspiring tribute to a remarkable life.
The event also featured support from the York Civic Party and the White Knights Blood Bikes, who volunteered their time and resources to help boost fundraising efforts.
Becky White, Community Fundraiser at York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity, thanked supporters for helping fund vital extras for patient care: “It’s was a fantastic show of community spirit and generosity from everyone who attended. The money raised will continue to make such a difference to the Magnolia Centre.
With the help of our incredible donors and supporters, like York Inset Scooter Club, we can fund the extras beyond that which NHS funding alone could deliver.”
