The Autumn Project helps bring comfort to patients and families when they need it most.
The Autumn Project enhances the experience for patients receiving end-of-life care and those important to them during some of life's most difficult moments. Your donation will help create comforting environments that offer privacy, reassurance and dignity, ensuring patients and families can spend valuable time together in comfort.
Your support will fund a range of improvements across our hospitals, including dedicated Autumn Rooms that provide calm, welcoming spaces away from busy ward environments. These rooms allow patients and families to spend meaningful time together in greater comfort and privacy.
Donations also help provide privacy screens for wards where a separate room is not available, as well as comfort bags containing essential items for relatives unexpectedly staying overnight.
Specialist cuddle beds
A key focus of the project is funding specialist cuddle beds. These specially designed beds allow patients to lie alongside the people they love, helping families stay close and connected. Thanks to generous supporters, two cuddle beds have already been funded at Scarborough Hospital. We are now fundraising for a cuddle bed at York Hospital, helping more families spend precious time together when every moment matters.
These thoughtful additions help families focus on what matters most: being together, creating memories and finding comfort during incredibly difficult times.
